There are four classes in Stevenage for adults as part of Stevenage Taekwondo Club, all held at Fairlands School, Pound Avenue, Stevenage, Herts, SG1 3JA. Students are accepted from 14 years of age. We are always open to taking on new students to the adults class, but we advise having the student watch a session first to ensure they know what Taekwondo is and what the sessions will involve.
Tuesday 19:00-20:00: White belts (beginners) to green belts
Tuesday 20:00-21:00: Blue-striped belts to black belts
Tuesday 21:00-22:00: Specialist training (sparring, technical, demonstration)
Thursday 20:00-22:00: All belts
The Tuesday classes are combined children and adults (so parents can train with their children if they're the same grade), the Thursday classes are adults only.
The training fee varies depending on how frequently you pay (there are discounts for paying for a longer period at a time). Uniforms are available from the club at a lower than retail price, but for the student's first couple of months of training, tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt will suffice. Annual membership is required for all students for a small annual fee of £30 and this also includes insurance and membership of the United Kingdom Taekwondo Development Council, itself a member of the British Taekwondo Council which is recognised by Sport England as the governing body for Taekwondo in the UK.
Pricing Plans
Our pricing plans are as follows. Kup test are coloured belt gradings. These are held every 3 months (6 months after 1st Kup tests) and require a minimum attendance and completing a standards assessment under a Master instructor. Dan/poom tests are conducted every three months, but require much longer periods between promotions, as mandated by World Taekwondo Headquarters rules. All payments are taken by Direct Debit and are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee. It is up to the account holder to change/cancel their plan before their next payment is due, if they wish to. No refunds will be given for uncompleted training.

We also allow dan-ranked guests, training with us less than 10 times per year to pay a per session fee of £5 per session.

Taekwondo is a great form of fitness where you'll be performing many of the movements used in combat exercise programs but in a more real situation. It also gives all adults self-confidence and is a fun way of meeting new people. A surprising thing about Taekwondo is how quickly we can have students doing movements they would have never thought they were capable of while feeling much better about themselves.
